Pattaya, Thailand.
Always Different, Never the Same. Where everyone is treated like Royalty...
Pattaya is nestled along a picturesque bay on the East Coast of the Gulf of Thailand, roughly 170 kilometers southeast of Bangkok. Unlike other beach resorts, where natural surroundings are used as magnets to attract tourists, Pattaya makes an all-out attempt to provide the best of everything, where a tourist can imagine while on holiday: recreation, entertainment, sports, sightseeing and fun.
With vineyards and go-go bars, and everything in between, the Thai town is one of a kind. The sea is the only thing you’d recognize from the little fishing village that used to be here, along with a rainbow of a beach stretching 4km long.
Apart from that, Pattaya has been transformed into a bustling seaside resort with more than 110,000 inhabitants; it is even the second most visited city in Thailand, after Bangkok. This is the place where you can fill your day, from dusk to dawn, with endless activities, or you may choose to do nothing at all and relax. Pattaya is popular not only for its beach but also for entertainment, nightlife and shopping. not to mention a wide variety of watersports such as scuba diving, jet-skiing, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, etc. The town of Pattaya, has cleaned up its act. Forget the sleazy girlie bars, ear-splitting music and seedy massage parlours, it now has chic cafés, bars and restaurants. You can spend your day time lazing on the beach or sip on a beer with hawkers selling street food. |
Check out A' La Campagne with its French-style interiors, modern European food and amazing coffee. Pop next door to Somtum Villa for a cracking green-papaya salad and end the day with sunset drinks at Silver Lining on the beach. For healthy smoothies, head to the Spa Café in nearby Chon Buri, and the funky Conpanno Café has delicious ice cream.
Do try `Thai Cold Coffee’. It is the best cooler in the beach heat. You can get this on the road itself. Some of them are standing, some are mobile. It very common among locals and the taxi guys. Also do try the freshly squeezed mango juice and the coconut water. |
Our villa journey revolves within the popular sections of this wonderfully hospitable land. There is so much more to Pattay than meets the eye. Don’t get us wrong, the beaches are amazing - but this place is also home to an abundance of beautiful private residences just waiting to be enjoyed. You just have to go.

Random stuff about Thailand
The Thai people, or formerly Siamese, are the main ethnic group. While the official Thai language is widely spoken throughout Thailand, many Thais also speak and understand English.
The Thai language can be tricky to master, but most Thais speak English and encourage visitors who try to speak Thai. Thai unit of currency is the baht. ATMs are found in all major cities. As a tourist you’re entitled to VAT refund on what you buy to take home. |
Thailand has three seasons.
The hot season is from March to May. From June to October, it is rainy, but with plenty of sunshine as well. The cool and dry period lasts from November to February. The best time to visit most of Thailand is between November and February, because it rains the least and it is not too hot. Pattaya can be reached in a 2.5-hour drive along Bangna-Trat Highway via Bang Pakong, Chon Buri and Si Racha. |
Transport here as in most parts of Thailand is varied and chaotic, with no one dominant means. The best way to getting around in Pattaya is using a Tuk Tuk taxi service, they are present everywhere and quite an authentic way to move around & get some fresh air, the speed is good enough to enjoy the surrounding environment and ask for a short stop in a moment's notice. Ofcourse air con taxis abound as well, we would recommend using them only if you are going for sightseeing.

The Pattaya Viewing Point has to be one of the best free Pattaya tourist attractions, it's where all those classic photos of Pattaya Bay were taken from. The Pattaya Viewing Point is located between Pattaya and Jomtien. Much of the best of Pattaya lies away from the centre of town, especially for the mum, dad and 2.4 demographic. Ripley’s is but one of a cohort of themed arenas that includes a Cartoon Network waterpark (plunging vertical drops to high-speed rollercoasters), Mini Siam’s bonsai version of Thailand, the 4,500 fishy inhabitants of Underwater World, Art in Paradise – which claims to be the biggest illusion-art museum on Earth – and, sticking with the superlative leitmotif, the largest botanical garden in Southeast Asia, Nong Nooch Garden.
